Tadpole tape gaskets are composed of a bulb and a flange. Fiberglass tadpole tapes are often used to set oven, furnace and boiler doors. They can also be used as a seal between uneven surfaces. They can be coated with graphite, vermiculite or have a self adhesive added for easy installation.
Wire inserted tadpole tapes are a non-absorbent gasketing material and are ideal for use again steam, water, air and gases.
Manufactured from plain fiberglass cloth over a fiberglass rope core, this soft, resilient tadpole tape provides effective sealing on light metal flanges and where limited bolting force is available. Doors and other closures rest on the bulb of the packing.
Wire mesh core tadpole tapes are used for higher pressure sealing applications for increased resilience.
It is a good choice for new or alternative gasketing in boiler doors, dust collectors, pollution control equipment, kilm seals, industrial ovens and industrial furnaces.
Ceramic tadpole tapes are typically used to seal oven, furnace and kiln doors. They also seal access cover gaskets.
Features Include:
- resistance to heat and flame
- resistance to most acids and alkalis
- no affect from most bleaches and solvents
- highly flexible and conformable
Silica tadpole tapes have added wear resistance which can be critical when being used as a high temperature gasket.
This tadpole tape is treated with silicone rubber inside and a flameproof neoprene based rubber on the outside. The coating provides an airtight seal. They are mostly used in boiler doors and other applications where an airtight seal is critical.
Tadpole tapes can be made in a variety of different designs. Temperature will vary depending on what the tadpole tape is made of.
Features Include:
- Double Tadpole Tape (features a bulb at both ends of the flange)
- Standard Tadpole Tape (one blub and one flange)
- Double Tail Tadpole Tape (features a flange on either side of the blub)
