Spiral Wounds

The spiral wound gasket depends upon the mechanical characteristics of a formed metal spiral strip, rather than the compressive virtues of more traditional gasket materials. This makes it particularly suitable for low or fluctuating bolt loads. This type of gasket should not be over compressed to function properly.  Temperatures may vary depending on what metal the gasket is made of.

API Ring Joints (RTJ)

Ring joint gaskets are precision manufactured metal ring joints predominantly used in high pressure oilfield applications or for processing industry duties. These gaskets are suitable for high pressure and high temperature applications. The units are manufactured in a variety of sizes and materials. Temperatures may vary depending on what material the gasket is made of.

Features Include:

  • resistance to high temperature
  • resistance to corrosive fluids
  • can withstand high pressure up to a maximum of 20,000 psi
350ºF

Heat Exchanger

Heat exchanger gaskets are especially suitable for high temperature and high pressure applications. They are used as sealing parts of heat exchangers and pressure vessels.  These gaskets are suitable for the heat exchangers, gas pipelines, cast iron flanges, cylinder heads, boilers and other containers. Temperatures may vary depending on what material the gasket is made of.

Features Include:

  • resistance to erosion
  • resistance to pressure
900ºF

Single & Double

These gaskets are often used on boiler or heat exchanger applications where ample bolting is available to seat the gasket. They are designed for high pressure and high temperature applications. The temperature limitation of the gasket is dictated by the combination of metallic and non-metallic materials used in its construction.  Temperatures may vary depending on what material the gasket is made of.

Jacketed

Jacketed gaskets consist of a sheet metal jacket and a filler which improves the gasket's resistance to higher temperatures and loads. Jacketed gaskets offer an economical seal and can be produced in a variety of shapes. These are specifically recommended for sealing heat exchangers, valve covers, autoclaves and manholes.  Temperatures may vary depending on what material the gasket is made of.

Types of Metal Jacketed Gaskets:

  • Single Jacketed Gaskets
  • Double Jacketed Gaskets
  • Double Jacketed Corrugated Gaskets
  • Single Jacketed Corrugated Gaskets

Corrugated Metal

Corrugated metal gaskets are comprised solely of metal and does not contain any non-metallic fillers in its construction. The temperature limitation of the gasket is only affected by the metal selected. Typically used for high temperature applications or applications involving steam, water, gas and oil.  Temperatures may vary depending on what material the gasket is made of.
