Blankets

Ceramic Fiber Blankets are made up of ceramic fiber which is produced by needling.

SGI produces blankets of different weight and thickness to provide a wide range for customer choices. They are designed to allow for the best insulation construction.

These blankets offer excellent handling ability and high temperature stability which allows it to meet a wide range of hot face and back up insulation applications in furnaces, kilns and other equipment requiring high temperature heat containment.

Paper

Ceramic Fiber Paper is produced from high quality ceramic fibers and organic binders. It is an easy to cut paper that ensures customer satisfaction.

Features includes:

  • low thermal conductivity
  • low thermal capacity
  • good insulation
  • good stability in chemistry
  • resistance to erosion and good electric insulation
  • low shrinkage
  • convenient producing and installing
  • good thermal stability
  • resistance to heat-shock

Board

A rigid, self supporting board, composed of insulation manufactured from ceramic fibers and binders.

Features Include:

  • smooth surface
  • excellent mechanism and structure strength
  • low thermal conductivity
  • low shrinkage
  • light weight
  • chemical resistance (with the exception of hydrofluric acid, phosphoric acid, and strong alkalis)

Rope

Ceramic Fiber Rope is made with many strands of ceramic fiber twisted or knit together. It is available in a variety of sizes. Commonly used for furnace and over door insulation.

Features Include:

  • resistance to high temperatures
  • resistance to most chemical products (with the exception of hydrofluoric and phosphoric acids and concentrated alkalis)

Tape

Ceramic fiber tapes are best known for their resistance to high temperatures. They have high insulating power and are durable and efficient for applications needing a strong, flexible cloth.

Typical applications include protective and insulating covers or shields, cable or pipe wrapping, expansion joints, high temperature seals and gaskets.

Moldable

Moldable ceramic fiber is composed of high silica fiber reinforced with a ceramic composite material that is easily cut and formed into flat sheets in addition to a wide variety of simple and complex shapes. Once dried, it becomes a rigid structure. Further heat treatment will significantly increase the physical strength of this material. Very low thermal expansion coefficient combined with its high temperature strength gives the moldable ceramic fiber thermal shock resistance.

Mastics

Ceramic fiber mastics are a mixture of refractory fibers, silica binders, and fillers wth a sticky consistency. It is ideal for applications such as cast shapes or coatings and patching refractory cracks or fissures

Features Include:

  • provides a hard, smooth surface
  • low thermal conductivity insulation after drying
